The newly appointed interim head coach has a proven track record of improving the teams he’s worked for, which include the New Orleans Saints (Head Coach, 2000-2005) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (Defensive Coordinator, 1997-1999). Let’s hope he can create some magic for the “Lamest Show on Turf”. There was a slight return to intelligent thinking on the part of the coaching staff, by the overwhelming agreement on the reinstatement of Marc Bulger as the starting QB for week 6. Week 6 will also see a return for wide receivers Dante Hall and Dane Looker, who has recovered from the concussion he was handed in week 4. There can only be a brighter future on the horizon for the Rams’ 2008 season at this point.

Mewelde Moore has become the latest and greatest running back star to light up the Pittsburgh firmament. His ground attack has proven that once again, the Rooney’s know what they’re doing when it comes to drafting and finding quality players. He has had to step up for Rashard Mendenhall, who received a season ending shoulder injury in week 4, who was supposedly to be covered by fullback Carey Davis; who also received a game-ending stinger in week 4. This would have been a nightmare subject, if not for the fact that Willie Parker (sprained knee) should return in week 7. Moore will simply step back as the #2 running back and Najeh Davenport (released in the off-season and resigned in week 5) will assume third-down responsibilities. There should be no significant changes for the Steelers’ win streak (4-1) as they will come back from their BYE week and face the weak rush defense of the Cincinnati Bengals (29th). The Steelers are currently 7th overall in the league. They’re on top of the AFC North and second overall in the AFC, behind the Tennessee Titans (5-0) who share the undefeated title with the New York Giants.

Well, it’s honestly no surprise that the St. Louis Rams decided to can head coach Scott Linehan in favor of Defensive Coordinator (2006-2008), Jim Haslett. […]

[37
146
post-166","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-football","tag-football
["GET
