Well they don’t really, but they have gone up in vapor. I am referring to the advent of electronic cigarettes as the retaliation to America’s smoking ban. I am a tech geek and I personally think this is a pretty cool idea, I mean come on…..rechargeable smokes!? Once again, science-fiction becomes science-fact because of movies. Wasn’t this idea shown in Total Recall, because of the lack of oxygen on Mars?
Now get me straight here, I spent time, pain and suffering to quit smoking. It is the addictive nature of cigarette smoking, mostly as a habit, that is the hard thing to break. It’s the holding a smoke in your fingers, taking a break at work or the after dinner puff. But what about people who hate the gums and patches, because you can’t really meter your “dosage”?
I have smoked off and on in the past, since I was about 13 years old. In that much time, about 18 years, I had “quit” about 3 or 4 times. Of course, it’s even harder to quit every subsequent time after the first attempt. I tried the patch, boy was that horrible. I mean, I tried following the guidelines of the box. Their recipe for quitting, based on your intake per day, was way off the mark. I used the correct first stage patch and I nearly passed out from the high! It was way too strong. So I wasted a big portion of the money I spent for the kit, because I started with the stage two patches. Only one time did I try one of the gum brands and man, it’s pretty nasty in my opinion.
So the enforced and stricter smoking ban laws have brought about this new invention. I wish I had a bigger stake in the company, but I have joined their affiliate program. I have read reviews on the few choices of digital smokes and found the blu cigs© brand to be highest quality product at a fair price for what you are buying. The price is in fact much better than buying the equivalent amount of cartons, let alone the out of line per pack prices.
What you are getting is a rechargeable vaporizer that has an electronically triggered puff of nicotine vapor. There is no second-hand “smoke”, no harmful additives (tar, Carbon Monoxide) and there are different flavors and strengths to choose from (i.e. regular, menthol, full, light, ultra-light, etc.). These levels of nicotine can either help you moderate your intake more effectively or quit in the most advanced way possible. Either way, you are getting the best of everything. You have better control of your habit, there are no harmful additives, there is no second-hand offending and you save money too!
I think this could possibly be the end of the big tobacco companies’ cigarette market, unless they get on board the train. This is where the real dilemma comes in for the US Government and the power of the FDA and the ATF. There is genuine debate going on about how to regulate the sales, because this item is not considered a tobacco product. Ok, so let the FDA handle it. But wait, it’s a drug that isn’t being taxed or regulated and shouldn’t be let into the country. Maybe they are a dangerous substance! Not that regulated and taxed tobacco products (proven to kill because of the harmful ingredients) are dangerous though. The double standard can be seen in this article – FDA to Snuff out E-cigarettes
But there is a bigger agenda here (as always) to actually protect the tobacco companies from new, competitive products that are smokeless! Read it here – The Deceptive Tobacco Regulation Bill
When boiled down, the US Government wants to control your smoking….period. There has been talk that you might not be able to smoke outside on your own back porch! There is another place that has banned e-cigs, like blu, but that is communist Honk Kong! Perhaps this is another point to the slow process of taking away our freedom to choose.
Abortion is the freedom to choose to commit murder. I don’t agree with it as it involves two or more parties that can’t defend themselves and it’s wrong. Smoking tobacco products is the freedom to commit suicide. If that is something the the individual (one person mind you) wants to do to themselves, then so be it.
Hey, maybe the FDA can get in and ban fast food, the #1 cause of obesity in America!? People have been known to die from being grossly overweight (another form of suicide). So maybe our lifetime will see what we can and can’t eat become “regulated” as well. When will it all end?

The electronic cigarette is great not only for people trying to smoke but for people who don’t want to quit smoking but want to stay away from the harsh carcinogens of tobacco cigarette products.
I use the electronic cigarettes because I wanted to have a safe smoking alternative. 2 months without a cigarette since I started using these electronic cigarettes. My wife called me a walking testimony 🙂
