Presidential Debacle, err Debate no. 2

October 8th, 2008 No Comments »

The second 2008 Presidential debate could only be called a tired rerun of old rhetoric. The real fiasco didn’t begin, until Obama blurted out that his plans for his “first term” in office! Talk about an ego-maniac. He hasn’t even posted four years as a Senator and he’s already planning for four years as President and then what he wants to do in years 5-8! That could be interpreted as over-confidence, but I prefer to believe that Obama has already paid for the election.

Let’s face the facts that 1)he has piled up more daily campaign dollars than any Democratic Presidential nominee to-date (and large sums from foreign donors) and 2)the American public is a shambling mass of cattle that are more than ready to accept the shiny new cowbell and collar that Obama’s offering. The cowbell of “change” is a trade of failed bi-partisan attempts for a neo-Marxist state of government controlled health care and a redistribution of wealth, which is a pathetic excuse for a tax cut but is really a tax hike (not new taxes though!). The point is, people earning $249,000 or less would basically receive a welfare check and those earning $250,000 will see a $40,000 tax hike! This is another attempt to level the playing field, whether you have invested your time and money into higher education for a better paying job or decided to accept a lower income bracket and fast-food employment! 2008 Football, week 5 surprises

October 7th, 2008 No Comments »

Well, it’s honestly no surprise that the St. Louis Rams decided to can head coach Scott Linehan in favor of Defensive Coordinator (2006-2008), Jim Haslett. The newly appointed interim head coach has a proven track record of improving the teams he’s worked for, which include the New Orleans Saints (Head Coach, 2000-2005) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (Defensive Coordinator, 1997-1999). Let’s hope he can create some magic for the “Lamest Show on Turf”. There was a slight return to intelligent thinking on the part of the coaching staff, by the overwhelming agreement on the reinstatement of Marc Bulger as the starting QB for week 6. Week 6 will also see a return for wide receivers Dante Hall and Dane Looker, who has recovered from the concussion he was handed in week 4. There can only be a brighter future on the horizon for the Rams’ 2008 season at this point.

The laughter doctor is in!

If you’ve never seen or heard of Jeff Dunham, he’s the best ventriloquist/comedian I have ever seen. He knows how to soften a room full of people, that have been hardened by everyday life, with laughter. There has been medicinal proof that laughter heals. He could be one of the most successful physicians to those not expecting treatment, but getting a healthy dose anyway!

He is primarily clean (with some innuendo mixed in) but he loves to target the differences between races, genders, age groups and politics. I have loved his acts with Peanut, Walter, José Jalapeño and now Achmed – the dead terrorist! This skit, and its main character, has been received with both accolades and disdain. There has even been a report that a South African man, Moegamat Khan, has filed a complaint about a cellphone ringtone (being marketed by local TV) was promoting that all Muslims are terrorists (read more about it). Now come on, it’s not our fault that most of the Muslims that we Americans hear about are terrorists. Don’t blame funny-man Jeff Dunham for poking fun at all races, the different religions and even his own wife! Well don’t make a decision based on my words alone, take a look at the skit yourself and decide for yourself…
